Bersatu's Muhammad Aiman Zainali said he will continue serving the people of Semenyih despite losing today's by-election.
"I will continue serving, and see what can be done. What is important is that I will strive for the people of Semenyih and work hard to strengthen the party.
"Win or lose, I will do my best for the people of Semenyih," he told reporters after the results were announced tonight.
Aiman, who is the son-in-law of the seat's former assemblyperson Bakhtiar Mohd Nor, had pledged to start solving the constituents problems the next day if he won the by-election.
Bakhtiar had wrested the Semenyih state-seat away from BN in May last year.
BN's recaptured the seat tonight after Zakaria Hanafi won 19,780 votes, a 1,914-majority over Aiman's 17,866 votes.
