MP: After 'Jamal revelation', Miti to probe AP holders
The International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) will investigate its current list of approved permit (AP) holders to uncover more alleged links to politicians from the previous BN administration, according to Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng.

The International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) will investigate its current list of approved permit (AP) holders to uncover alleged links to politicians from the previous BN administration, according to Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng.
Lim told reporters at the Parliament lobby that the move follows his statement yesterday alleging that a company linked to Umno Sungai Besar division chief Jamal Md Yunos was among the current list of 164 AP holders, 128 of which were approved during the previous BN administration.
"About Jamal, the Miti deputy minister (Ong Kian Ming) came back to me after my speech in Parliament.
"He said his ministry will look into that, will investigate whether there are Umno politicians who are AP holders, (and) still remain as owners of the companies, including Jamal," Lim said.
In his debate on the royal address yesterday, Lim suggested the government should review the AP policy, which he claimed has continued to enrich a certain group of well-off bumiputeras.
He brought up Jamal as an example of an alleged beneficiary of the system.
When contacted, Jamal dared Lim to repeat his allegation outside the Dewan Rakyat.
Lim said today that he will await the outcome of the ministry's investigations before commenting further.
He reiterated his call for a review of the entire list of AP holders, which currently comprises 164 companies, including 36 new APs granted by the Harapan government through its Open AP policy.
Miti confirmed last week that 36 new companies had been made AP holders under the new policy, which commenced in January.
