PKR president Anwar Ibrahim says the understanding established between himself and Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is to continue the reform agenda.
Anwar, the Port Dickson MP, stated today that the support given to the country’s leadership is based on the understanding achieved by all Pakatan Harapan component parties.
He added that each individual has to abide by the appointed Harapan leadership to focus on fulfilling its promises to the people and the reform agenda.
“We support the present leadership, and give them space to continue the reforms, though many people are confused why Anwar would go into an understanding with Mahathir after being old foes.
“The people forget that what we agreed on is not because Mahathir is prime minister now, Anwar as prime minister later... to me that is secondary,” he told reporters at the 'Challenges of Youths' town hall session in Johor Bahru today.
Also present were PKR Youth chief and Johor Bahru MP Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir and Johor PKR Youth chief R Yuneswaran.
In this regard, Anwar said he wanted the younger generation to continue their efforts and support the government to ensure the success of the country’s reform agenda.
He added that the government would also focus on the agenda to assist all races in the country, and not just the Malays.
