PKR deputy president Azmin Ali (above) today lambasted Umno supreme council member Lokman Noor Adam over the latter's challenge for him to take a lie detector test.

Branding Lokman as a "cicak mengkarung" (lizard), he said it was not up to Lokman how investigations should be carried out into the sex video scandal that allegedly implicated him.

"This is the problem with Umno. He is the one who spreads lies (fitnah), and he also wants to be the prosecutor, the investigator, and the judge. He wants to determine everything," Azmin told reporters after attending the Economic Affairs Ministry's Hari Raya function in Kuala Lumpur today.

Azmin was commenting on Lokman's call for him to take a polygraph test to prove his innocence in the sex video clips leaked to the media, which featured a man resembling Azmin

Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz (above) had claimed that he was one of the people in the videos and his partner was Azmin.

Azmin, who is also economic affairs minister, has categorically denied the allegation and called the issue a plot to kill his political career.

He said he had taken legal steps based on his lawyers' advice, including having a qazaf (false accusation) report lodged with the authorities, and given his full cooperation to the police.

When pressed by reporters on whether he would take up the challenge, Azmin brushed the question aside by asking if Lokman is the new attorney-general.

Malaysiakini has sent a request to Lokman for his comments.
