Posters of fisherfolk protest marred with Umno, PAS logos

Penang Forum's Khoo Salma Nasution said the e-flyers were found tampered with the addition of PAS and Umno's logos.
Suspecting it is the work of "cybertroopers", Salma said the tarnished posters appeared like they were done by proponents of the artificial islands.
"The fishermen's struggle is a genuine one and has nothing to do with party politics. Support the fishermen, reject the cybertroopers' lies," Salma told Malaysiakini.
"This flyer was discovered circulating in Malay WhatsApp groups.
"Someone is trying to discredit the fishermen and the Penang Tolak Tambak (Penang anti-reclamation) campaign.
"We realise that we are up against a lot of vested interests," she said.
The fake posters come in the wake of 200 fisherfolk planning a march to Parliament to hand over a petition and memorandum urging Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to cancel the project as it is detrimental to their livelihood.
Slated for development in Bayan Lepas, the project covering 4,500 acres involves the creation of three artificial islands.
Once developed, the project will fund the state's ambitious RM46 billion transport master plan, which includes highways and a light rail transit system.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has promised to engage with the fisherfolk and work out their compensation in cash and kind.
Another NGO participating in the protest tomorrow - Pertubuhan Warisan Tanah and Teroka Bandar - urged the cybertroopers not to disturb the struggle of the fisherfolk.
"When more and more people are aware of the damages of reclamation, (here) come these cybertroopers, disturbing the narrative to victimise the fisherfolk," said Teroka chairperson Zikrullah Ismail.
