Johor PKR warns action against Azmin faction's joint AGM launch
Johor PKR has warned that it will take action against the organisers of an event to jointly launch the annual general meeting of divisions which are aligned to PKR deputy president Azmin Ali.
The event in Kulai tomorrow is called "Perasmian MATC Kelompok Peringkat Negeri Johor" (Launching of Johor-Level Group Division AGMs) and is set to be officiated by PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin.

Johor PKR has warned that it will take action against the organisers of an event to jointly launch the annual general meeting of divisions which are aligned to PKR deputy president Azmin Ali.
The event in Kulai tomorrow was originally called "Perasmian MATC Kelompok Peringkat Negeri Johor" (Launching of Johor-Level Group Division AGMs) and is set to be officiated by PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin.
Malaysiakini understands that the Johor PKR leadership, which is controlled by Anwar Ibrahim loyalists, is taking issue with the word "peringkat negeri Johor" (Johor-level).
"This is not an official programme organised by the Johor PKR leadership and is implemented without our mandate," acting Johor PKR chief Jimmy Puah (above) said in a statement.
"This only encourages a split in the party and confuses members if it continues.
"Disciplinary action will be taken against the organiser for misusing Johor PKR's name and giving it a negative perception," he added.
He said there was no need for the programme to take place as Johor PKR will hold a convention on November 1.

Johor PKR secretary Naim Jusri (above) told Malaysiakini only nine out of 26 divisions are involved in tomorrow's programme.
"The other 17 divisions are not involved," he said. Naim is the Muar division chief.
Malaysiakini understands that the nine divisions are Kluang, Labis, Gelang Patah, Ledang, Sri Gading, Batu Pahat, Pontian, Tebrau, and Segamat.
Kluang PKR chief Mark Matthew, who is on the poster promoting tomorrow's event, said it had nothing to do with the Johor party leadership.
"This is strictly for nine divisions, we just want to have a joint launching," he said. He added this will be made clear in the backdrop for the event tomorrow.
Matthew was also unperturbed by Puah's threat of action if the event continues.
"I've no time to (appeal against action), let them do it. If they are as stupid as that to do it, then they will face the consequences," he said.
The event's description has since dropped the words "peringkat negeri Johor".
Zuraida, meanwhile, told Malaysiakini that division leaders are free to invite any leaders to officiate their AGMs.
PKR has yet to heal from a rift between the Azmin and Anwar camps.
Zuraida has been pushing for Anwar to initiate reconciliation efforts, while the PKR president said that Azmin's faction should just show up for meetings.
However, Zuraida said yesterday that Anwar has promised to meet them, but that they are still waiting for the call.
