The application by former communications and multimedia minister Salleh Said Keruak (above) to join PKR will be decided by the party’s political bureau, said PKR Advisory Council chairman Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
“We will consider his (Salleh Said) application because there are certain sensitivities, and although the PM (prime minister) has said there’s nothing against party hopping, there are some who feel the need to look at the purpose of this party hopping.
“We have received his application; whether he will be accepted or not will be discussed at the party’s political bureau (meeting),” she told reporters at the Parliament lobby here today.
Yesterday, PKR information chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin said PKR members should be open to accepting leaders who could benefit the party.
However, Sabah PKR deputy chairman Mustapha Sakmud expressed the concerns of the state party leadership and members over Salleh Said’s application to join PKR.
