Orang Asli student bullied at top school, hospitalised
The trauma from having to suffer from constant bullying by his seniors at a boarding school in Negeri Sembilan landed an Orang Asli boy in hospital for five days, said police.
Based on their initial investigations, the 13-year-old victim had fallen victim to bullying after he enrolled in Form 1 at the Sekolah Menengah Sains Rembau early this year.

Based on their initial investigations, the 13-year-old victim fell victim to bullying after he enrolled in Form 1 at the Sekolah Menengah Sains Rembau early this year.
Rembau district police chief Anuar Bakri said the victim's family learned about the incident during a visit by his father in early August.
"We found that the bullying case involved senior students against a 13-year-old victim which started since early this year and was only detected by the victim's father when he went to visit the boy in early August.
"On Aug 29, the victim was taken by his family to the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital in Seremban where he was warded for five days for medical check-ups.
"The medical checks did not reveal physical injuries but the victim was traumatised," Anuar told Malaysiakini.
He said police were alerted to the case after receiving tip-off from the public last week. The victim's family, however, did not want to lodge a police report.
They have since taken him back to their hometown in Perak.
Formal complaint
It was learned that among the tasks the boy's seniors forced him to do were washing their clothes and buying them food.
Anuar said the family have decided to leave the matter to the school's administration and have lodged a formal complaint with the school.
The parents had on Oct 4 also made a formal application to transfer the boy out of the school but have yet to receive any decision on their application.
Malaysiakini has contacted the Education Ministry and its Boarding School Management Division for comments.
