Nothing wrong with 'recycled' candidate, PM also 'recycled': Annuar Musa

Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa said there was nothing wrong with using a "recycled" candidate for the Tanjung Piai by-election as the current prime minister was also "recycled".
"It is okay, we have a prime minister whom we have recycled many times. I think there is no problem.
"If you can have a recycled prime minister, what's wrong with a candidate (who is recycled)?" Annuar (above) told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.
BN last night announced that they will field MCA's Wee Jeck Seng for the Tanjung Piai by-election.
Wee is a two-time Tanjung Piai MP. He failed to retain his seat in last year's 14th general election, losing by just 524 votes to Pakatan Harapan's Dr Mohd Farid Mohd Rafik.
The by-election was triggered by Farid’s death from a heart attack on Sept 21.
Harapan has said that they will field the Tanjung Piai Bersatu chief Karmaine Sardini as their candidate for the by-election.
Nomination day is Nov 2 while polling day is on Nov 16.
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad first served as the fourth prime minister from 1981 to 2003.
He is currently serving again as the seventh prime minister.
Meanwhile, MCA president Wee Ka Siong said those calling their candidate recycled is just using their usual tactics.
"I think this is a usual tactic used by our enemies to weaken our spirit.
"We are not fearful, and I feel like if all who have lost once (are recycled candidates), then people like Karpal Singh and Lim Kit Siang have also lost once, if you want to follow the definition of 'recycled'," he said.
