A PAS leader has suggested that Anwar Ibrahim subjects himself to a polygraph test like Muhammed Yusoff Rawther, who accused the PKR president of sexual misconduct.

According to Selangor PAS director Roslan Shahir Mohd Shahir, this would dispel doubts surrounding the credibility of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's designated successor.

“Hopefully, Anwar is willing to undergo the polygraph test. Anwar is now the prime minister- designate and no longer just an opposition leader.

“If all of this is slander and part of an effort to derail his dream of becoming the eighth PM, Anwar must be brave and undergo the polygraph test for justice.

“Don't churn out excuses because the people of Malaysia must know the credibility of their future prime minister,” he was quoted as saying by Harakah Online.

Yesterday, Yusoffv (left, photo) underwent a four-hour polygraph test at the Bukit Aman federal police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

His lawyer Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla told reporters later that his client was satisfied with the test but declined to reveal further details.

“The reason Yusoff showed up today was to offer his cooperation and commitment so that the police can conduct a thorough investigation.

“This polygraph test is something Yusoff wanted to do so that the honesty and sincerity of his allegation could be determined,” he said.

Yusoff had lodged a police report on Dec 7 to facilitate an investigation into his allegations against Anwar made in a statutory declaration (SD).

In his SD, Yusoff claimed he had been a victim of molest, indecent exposure and indecent proposals by Anwar at the latter’s Segambut home more than a year ago on Oct 2, 2018.

Anwar denied the allegations.

The police are now probing the case under Section 354 of the Penal Code, which concerns assault or the use of criminal force with the intent to outrage someone’s modesty.

Meanwhile, Roslan (photo) said Yusoff appeared to be determined in aiding police investigations to the point of volunteering to undergo a lie detector test.

The police have also questioned Anwar and visited his Segambut residence in relation to this case.
