CORONAVIRUS | Another Suhakam member has been tested positive for Covid-19, several days after its first staff member came with the same result.
Malaysiakini was also made to understand that a third Suhakam member is a Patient Under Investigation (PUI) and awaiting results of the Covid-19 test.
"Yes, but we will not reveal their identity," said a Suhakam spokesperson when contacted today to confirm the latest case.
The spokesperson also confirmed that Suhakam headquarters at Menara TH Perdana in Kuala Lumpur will remain closed until March 24.
Earlier this morning, the commission had also sent out a notice of extended closure for its office, to be reopened after two weeks from March 11, on March 25.
Suhakam had initially announced that its headquarters will be closed and disinfected from March 11 to March 13 after detection of the first positive case among its members.
At the time, the commission advised that members of the public who had visited or interacted with its officers from March 2 onwards could have been exposed to the novel coronavirus, small as the possibility it may be.
