In Kuala Lumpur yesterday, Bukit Jalil police station representative Raja Zamani Raja Zainal spoke through the Masjid Talhah Ubaidillah's PA system before maghrib call to prayers, urging people to stay home.
"The public is advised to stay home and observe the movement control order. Failure to do so will cause the spread of the Covid-19 virus to get worse.
"Failure is not an option. Failure might result in the third wave of infections, which could be worse," said Raja Zamani, in a widely shared video online.
In Ipoh, China Press reported that the local police are conducting checkpoints of a different sort in the city.
The police were funnelling cars into two lanes while several cops hold placards urging the public to stay home.
Throughout the country, most people have abided with government instructions to stay home until March 31 as part of the order.
The strategy was to suppress the spread of the deadly Covid-19 virus, which has killed two Malaysians and infected at least 790 others.
Malaysians are only allowed to leave their homes for food, medicine and some work.
