CORONAVIRUS | The Sarawak government is seeking passengers who travelled on a bus from Kuching to Bintulu on March 14 to undergo Covid-19 screening.
In an announcement on the official Sarawak Disaster Information Facebook page yesterday, the state authorities identified the bus as Bas Express Bintang Jaya, with the licence plate SAB 6829B.
The bus departed Kuching at 8.30am.
“You need to make an appointment for Covid-19 screening and await further instructions by contacting the Bintulu operations room at 086-315235,” the posting read.
As of April 28, Sarawak has recorded 276 active coronavirus cases.
Meanwhile, in a separate posting, the state authorities said that the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) will be meeting today to discuss the federal government's decision to allow certain sectors to fully operate during the movement control order (MCO).
This after International Trade and Industry Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali said companies under economic sectors that have been permitted to operate during the MCO are allowed to resume full operations, starting today.
However, Azmin said, the companies must adhere to the set standard operating procedures (SOP).
Malaysia has been under the partial shutdown order from March 18. The order period has been extended three times and is currently slated to end on March 12.
