1. Dewan Rakyat speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof has accepted Langkawi MP Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s motion of no-confidence against Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, as well as Batu Sapi MP Liew Vui Keong’s emergency motion calling for an eight-day parliamentary sitting.

2. Mahathir’s motion against Muhyiddin may not be debated when Parliament reconvenes on May 18, because government matters will get priority at the sitting.

3. Ariff said only government-owned media organisations will be allowed to cover the upcoming Dewan Rakyat sitting, citing concerns over Covid-19.
