Petrol prices will be dearer after being unchanged for about a month. The Finance Ministry said this was due to the increase in refined product prices in line with the rise in global crude oil prices.

The new retail price of RON95 increased by six sen from RM1.25 to RM1.31 per litre while RON97 also increased six sen from RM1.55 to RM1.61 per litre.

Meanwhile, diesel price increased five sen from RM1.40 to RM1.45 per litre.

“The government will continue to monitor the impact of global crude oil price change and take appropriate measures to ensure the welfare and well-being of the people,” said the ministry in a statement today.
