Effective today, police will issue on the spot compounds to those attempting to cross state borders to balik kampung (return to their hometowns).

He said only those with emergency cases will be allowed to cross state lines.
Ismail revealed that 2,412 vehicles were turned back yesterday while some 1,300 people made a beeline at the Kuantan district police headquarters to obtain permission to return to their hometowns.
"Surely not all of them had deaths in their families to attend to. This is not logical," said the minister, who oversees the security cluster.
Ismail said the public does not need to queue at police stations as they will not be entertained.
The senior minister said it is possible that some may take hidden routes to evade the roadblocks.
However, he warned they will be punished if found and is confident that police will track down these individuals.
Anyone who claims to be able to evade roadblocks will also be tracked down, he added.
On a related matter, Ismail said 130 people were detained yesterday for violating the conditional movement control order (MCO) rules.
Meanwhile, Ismail said the personal details of those who sign a logbook to enter business premises are protected under the Personal Data Protection Act.
He said sharing the information will constitute an offence.
"If anyone feels their information has been shared by the business premises, they can report it to the police and MCMC," he added.
