More than 3,000 vehicles have attempted to cross state borders to balik kampung (return to their hometowns) and were forced to turn back, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

"Yesterday, a total 3,212 vehicles attempted to cross borders on the excuse of balik kampung," he told a press conference in Putrajaya today.
