A new NGO is organising an event for Malacca PKR members to leave the party en masse on June 27.
The invitation notice to the event went viral on social media.
The notice contained the details of the event, which is slated to be held at Taman Tasik Utama, MITC Ayer Keroh, at 10am on June 27.
An individual called "Awi", who claimed to be the secretary of an NGO known as the Penggerak Komuniti Negara (PKN), purportedly prepared the invitation.
Former Malacca PKR deputy chairperson G Rajendran confirmed that he had also received the invitation to the event.
"Since the last two days, I received calls from several people who invited me to come to the event.
"However, I refused as my stand is different from the NGO," Rajendran told Malaysiakini.
He said he did not leave PKR because he supported Azmin Ali but because he was upset with the party's state chapter, which allegedly practised cronyism.
Commenting on the NGO, Rajendran (above) said it was formed by former Malacca PKR members who are aligned to Azmin, the party's former deputy president.
He revealed that the PKN in Malacca is led by Rembia assemblyperson Muhammad Jailani Khamis.
When contacted, Jailani refused to divulge details on both the NGO and the event.
"I don't want to give a comment. Just wait and see," he briefly told Malaysiakini.
For the record, Jailani was sacked from PKR on April 12, after he announced his support for Perikatan Nasional and attended a meeting with the coalition.
Machap Jaya assemblyperson Ginie Lim has also refused to comment when asked about the June 27 event.
PKR information chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin said he has no knowledge about the event.
"I have no idea. I don't know if the notice is genuine," Shamsul said.

I do not indulge in those sodomy or sexual advancement allegations. This is Anwar personal life and it is a matter between him, his family and his God. However, the recent spat of events, being wishy washy, surrounded with little Napoleons and the exodus of party members are no good sign. If the party is weak, how to ensure he is going to be the next PM? Follow the comments here, to say it is OK? To cleanse all traitors out. What if, what is left is so little? To build the party again? Another 10 years or more? You think Anwar can live that long or strong to lead Malaysia? When you are the opposition, what reforms are you talking? See Moo for other option? You don't see yourself as being so low to meet a scum like him. Moocan do this to Mahatir, what not he can't do to you? It's OK because Moo cannot let Mahatir return because that old man will take revenge. Anwar, you too make sure this happen so that Mahatir can never be the PM again? You play along to Moo tunes but at the same time, the country is bleeding and najib, zahid, one by one is declared innocent. And when you accept Moo, you too accept Azmin back? Where are your DIGNITY? If that is your plan, DAP and Amanah might as well say goodbye to you. Is Option 2 as evil as cooperating with Moo and your former trusted lieutenant?
