This after the former women's chief Haniza Talha was sacked from PKR two weeks ago.
Fuziah confirmed the matter when contacted by Malaysiakini.
"A meeting was called by the party's advisor (Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail) with the women's leadership and taskforce to announce the appointment," she said.
It is understood that the appointment was decided by PKR's leadership council.
Fuziah had lost to Haniza in the party's 2018 elections after securing just 47 percent of the vote.
After Haniza was sacked, the Kuantan MP was among four candidates nominated to take over the position.
The others were Rodziah Ismail, Elizabeth Wong, and Gan Pei Nei.
The deputy women's chief post is also vacant after its office bearer Dr Daroyah Alwi quit PKR.
Both Haniza and Daroyah were allied to former PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, who is now with Bersatu.
