Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) deputy president Kong Fui Seng has resigned from his party, according to a report.

English daily The Star quoted Star president Jeffrey Kitingan confirming the matter today.

“He (Kong) has met me, told me he had met with (Warisan president) Shafie Apdal. I have yet to receive his letter. It’s an issue of office politics which he couldn’t handle,” he reportedly told the newspaper.

The report claimed that Kong (above) will hand over his application to join Warisan when Shafie visits Keningau on Wednesday.

The resignation comes as the Sabah state election draws near. Nomination day falls on Sept 12, while polling day is on Sept 26.
