Kuala Lumpur traffic police chief Zulkefly Yahya said in a statement that their investigation showed that in the 8.30pm incident, the Proton Saga was turning left and heading towards Jalan Len Sen at the intersection before it was hit by a crane from the back.
The 55-year old e-hailing driver survived the accident unscathed.
"The crane's arm had hit the roof of the car and the driver was trapped inside. He was removed from the car with help from the firefighters.
"He did not sustain any injury and no fragment of any objects was found in the car.
"After the accident, the crane did not stop and the police did not receive any police report from the crane driver," he said.
Bernama reported a Prolintas spokesperson as confirming that the accident had nothing to do with the construction of Suke.
