All Usim staff in close contact with Zulkifli test negative for Covid-19
All Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (Usim) staff identified as close contacts of de facto religious affairs minister Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri at a recent event at a campus in Nilai have tested negative for Covid-19.
In a notice today, Usim's management said all of the staff, who received their first swab test results, will continue to work from home and observe home quarantine until Oct 20.

In a notice today, Usim's management said all of the staff, who received their first swab test results, will continue to work from home and observe home quarantine until Oct 20.
"A second screening will be conducted on them at a date to be determined by the Negeri Sembilan Health Office.
"The management expresses our gratefulness over the results of the first screening and hopes that it will provide some relief and alleviate the concerns of all parties involved or affected by this situation," said the notice.
The staff concerned have been under home quarantine since Monday and Usim's vice-chancellor Prof Mohamed Ridza Wahiddin at the time reportedly said it was part of the university’s efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Ridza said the order to undergo self-quarantine and to work from home also applied to other staff who may have come into contact with those identified as Zulkifli's close contacts.
This included the imam and congregants who were on the first row for Friday prayers at the Tuanku Muhriz Islamic Complex on Oct 2 as well as the staff who attended the launch of Usim's "Jom Infaq" portal.
The move came after Zulkifli, who had attended several events at the Usim campus, tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
On Monday, Zulkifli confirmed that he was Covid-19 positive, and called on those present at the events he had attended from Sept 24 to Oct 4 to undergo screening.
