A former political secretary to a federal minister will be charged in court tomorrow for alleged involvement in a corruption case amounting to about RM5 million in connection with a project tender at a ministry.

According to sources, the man in his 40s will face several charges under Section 16 of the MACC Act 2009 in the Kuala Lumpur Court.

A source added that the suspect is also expected to face additional charges in the Shah Alam Court on Oct 23, 2020.

A source also said the suspect is believed to have helped a contractor company get the tender for a ministry's project and received bribes from several individuals through several transactions.

MACC investigation director Norazlan Mohd Razali confirmed this matter when contacted.

He added that three other senior officers of the agency under the ministry who were previously investigated in the same case will also be charged in the near future for accepting bribes.
