COVID-19 | Health Minister Dr Adham Baba has been placed under home quarantine after coming into close contact with a Covid-19 patient.
In a Facebook post, the minister said the patient was a private media practitioner who was at his office last Saturday and had since tested positive.
Malaysiakini understands the individual was not a journalist.
Adham said he would be under quarantine until Dec 18 and would work from home during this period.
The minister emphasised that all should comply with quarantine instructions.
"No one is exempt from complying with any order issued by the authorities involving the prevention or treatment of Covid-19.
"Hopefully, we can all play a role in dealing with and fighting the pandemic.
"I will work from home and this includes holding meetings and discussions through virtual conferences," he added.
As of Dec 9, Malaysia has recorded 393 fatalities from Covid-19 from 76,265 cases.
Of those cases, 10,748 are currently being treated while 65,124 have been discharged.
