1. A portion of the unfinished Suke Highway in Kuala Lumpur collapsed for the second time, killing two people and severely injuring three. The incident is blamed on a trailer that supposedly crashed into the construction site.

2. Umno wrote to Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin on the party supreme council’s decision to cut ties with Bersatu once Parliament is dissolved. Meanwhile, 16 Umno members failed in their legal bid to dissolve the party.

3. Minister Khairy Jamaluddin tackled posts that went viral on social media, urging people to resubmit their registration for the Covid-19 vaccination, while the Health Ministry is working on an internationally recognised Covid-19 vaccination certificate.

4. The Federal Court issued its full judgment on contempt proceedings against Malaysiakini, saying that the hefty RM500,000 fine serves the public interest.

5. Police confirmed an ongoing investigation against former Bank Negara governor Zeti Akthar Aziz’s husband over allegations that he received money that originated from 1MDB. Meanwhile, 1MDB’s former auditor Deloitte agreed to pay RM324 million to settle all claims on its auditing of 1MDB and SRC International accounts.

6. As movement control order restrictions relax, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Takiyuddin Hassan fended off renewed calls for Parliament to reconvene, but Pakatan Harapan lawmakers are unconvinced.

7. Sabah State Legislative Assembly Speaker Kadzim M Yahya ruled that Sebatik assemblyperson Hassan A Gani Pg Amir’s resignation letter is invalid because it was pre-signed and undated, potentially leaving Warisan is one less avenue to prevent defections.

8. Julau MP Larry Sng sees little hope for the "disunited" Pakatan Harapan to win in the next general election, prompting him to desert PKR.

9. Cinemas are set to reopen on March 5, though not all have survived the recent tightening of MCO restrictions. Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah reminded people to remain vigilant, as Malaysia can’t afford another surge of Covid-19 cases.

10. A police report has been lodged over a purportedly false allegation that 200 staff of the Kelantan State Secretary's Office had jumped the queue to get their Covid-19 vaccinations.
