Selangor executive councillor Borhan Aman Shah has admitted to and apologised for violating the Hari Raya Aidilfitri standard operating procedure (SOP). Kuala Langat police have opened an <a href="https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/575490" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">investigation paper</a> into the politician for having house guests during the festive period.In a statement today, Borhan apologised and said he will cooperate with the investigation.“I would like to express my deep regret over this matter. “I promise that such a thing will not happen again. I would like to seek forgiveness from all for my wrongdoing. “I admit my mistake and will take full responsibility for this matter,” he said on his Facebook page.He holds the rural development, traditional villages, Malay customs, culture, and heritage portfolio in the state administration.

				</div>Selangor police chief Arjunadi Mohamad said Borhan along with all those who were photographed at his house will be summoned for questioning, Utusan Malaysia reported.He is being investigated under Rule 17 of the amended Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act. Individuals can be compounded up to RM10,000 for violating SOPs. The Tanjung Sepat assemblyperson was previously photographed having a gathering at his house on May 14, the second day of Hari Raya. The Health Ministry <a href="https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/574449" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">forbade</a> house visitations and open houses under the SOP to curb the spread of Covid-19.
