State PN reps urged to push Putrajaya on S'gor vaccination issues
PKR's Port Klang assemblyperson Azmizam Zaman Huri today called on Selangor Perikatan Nasional (PN) elected representatives to also play a role in urging Putrajaya to resolve Selangor’s vaccination issues.
This came after Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah expressed shock at the low and “unfair” number of Covid-19 vaccines supplied to the state.

This came after Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah expressed shock at the low and “unfair” number of Covid-19 vaccines supplied to the state.
“This important matter should be tackled by all assemblypersons and not based on party affiliation alone.
“At this critical stage of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is wise to prioritise the lives of the rakyat over other agendas.
“As the state that contributes the most to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), Selangor should not be treated unfairly,” Azmizam (above) said in a statement.
He said the statement by the sultan had to be taken seriously and there should be no more accusations and political games that might hinder the country’s race towards achieving herd immunity.
Sultan Sharafuddin today expressed shock and disappointment at discovering that only 615,210 doses of Covid-19 vaccines had been allocated for the state and not the 2.9 million as was previously claimed.
In a statement signed by his private secretary Mohamad Munir Bani, the sultan said the allocation was unfair as it was insufficient to cover Selangor’s population.
“His Majesty was shocked when the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) confirmed that Selangor only received 615,210 Covid-19 vaccine doses as of June 1, and not 2.9 million as previously claimed,” Mohamad Munir said.
He said that in this situation, Sultan Sharafuddin was of the opinion that the lives of the people should outweigh all other agendas.
He added that the sultan also wanted more vaccine administration centres (PPV) to be set up in the state, especially in rural areas.
