Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail has disputed claims that he was not hands-on with flood victims, calling them untrue.
He said this in response to a report of a Taman Chegar Medang resident in Bentong, Pahang complaining that she spotted the menteri besar's convoy in her residential area but they only waved.
"Anyone who followed the Pahang government's flood aid mission on social media knows about what the state government has done.
"The video by Malaysiakini claiming that I only waved from my car is untrue and one-sided," he said on Facebook.
During KiniTV's visit to the residential area, 61-year-old Zalmiah Wahab complained that she saw Wan Rosdy's convoy checking in.
“The government did come. But they just said 'bye bye' to us. They did not even come out (from their cars).
“They came from Kuantan I think. MB was there too. But he did not come to us, he just stayed in his car,” she claimed.
However, based on Wan Rosdy’s Facebook update yesterday, he visited several flood areas in Bentong including Kampung Chegar Medang.
He also announced that the state government will hand out a special cash aid of RM500 to each household affected by the floods.
