“Residents in low-lying and flood risk areas are advised to be on constant alert and take appropriate action while following instructions from the authorities,” it said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, netizens have posted videos purportedly showing that part of Kajang is already flooded.
In a related development, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department said it received a call for assistance at Taman Lembah Mewah, Kajang, and arrived at the scene at 12 minutes later at 5:47pm.
It said it found a flash flood caused by heavy rain and clogged drains.
The water was two feet (61cm) deep and was already receding, and there were no victims in need of rescue.
