Police have recorded 50 deaths due to floods that hit seven states since last Dec 15.
Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the victims comprise 35 men, 12 women and three children.
He said the figure also represented 25 victims from Selangor, 21 in Pahang and four in Kelantan.
"Aside from that, two men in Pahang are still reportedly missing," said Acryl Sani, according to Utusan Online.
The federal government is paying RM10,000 in compensation for each flood death, on top of any additional aid from state governments.
Most of the deaths occurred during the first wave of flooding, which was associated with Tropical Depression 29W.
The tropical depression made landfall near Kuantan on Dec 17 and caused severe flooding across Central Peninsular Malaysia.
MetMalaysia made no mention of the incoming weather phenomenon as it developed over several days on the South China Sea.
Further flooding is occurring now as the monsoon batters the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
