The standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Johor state election are currently being finalised and will be announced before nomination day, the Election Commission (EC) said today.
The EC’s corporate communications head Mohammad Azlan Charles Abdullah said they will announce the SOPs after approval from the Health Ministry and National Security Council.
He said this to reporters after a media briefing in Johor Bahru in conjunction with the Johor polls.
Meanwhile, he said the briefing was held to ensure smooth coverage throughout the election period.
“We share with the media what can and cannot be done during the coverage but the SOPs have not been issued yet... we are still waiting,” he said.
The EC has set March 12 as polling day for the Johor state election while nomination is on Feb 26 and early voting on March 8.
