Human rights group Lawyers For Liberty (LFL) is calling for donations as it looks to raise funds for two death row inmates in Singapore - Pausi Jefridin and Roslan Bakar.

However, LFL coordinator Zaid Malek clarified that the fundraiser will continue to be held for the duration of the ongoing cases.
Pausi is a Malaysian citizen while Roslan is Singaporean. Both were convicted of drug trafficking offences in Singapore in 2010.
The LFL contented that Pausi only has an IQ of 67 which should be considered an intellectual disability, while Roslan likewise has borderline intellectual functioning.
The group argued that the inmates fell within the protection of the Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), and since Singapore is a signatory of the CRPD, their executions should be prohibited.
It was reported previously that Singapore courts ruled that despite their IQ levels, “both Pausi and Roslan had displayed competence and comprehension of what they were doing when they carried out their act of trafficking in the drugs”.
Both were due to be executed today. However, the Singapore High Court granted the duo an interim stay of execution, pending the filing of an appeal.
