MACC has nabbed two other individuals in connection with its ongoing probe into alleged corruption for securing foreign worker quotas.

Magistrate Irza Zulaikha Rohanuddin granted MACC a three-day remand order against both suspects - a business owner in his 30s and a recruitment agency owner in his 50s.

Both were arrested at the anti-graft commission's headquarters in Putrajaya last night. MACC senior investigating officer Hishamuddin Hashim confirmed the arrests and remand.

The business owner is being investigated for allegedly receiving a bribe of more than RM1 million from a recruitment agent, according to sources.

Meanwhile, the owner of the recruitment agency was suspected of paying a bribe to a "company providing a platform for migrant workers application".

The duo's detention follows MACC's remand and arrest of six suspects yesterday, including the chief executive officer (CEO) of an information technology (IT) company, the company's senior officer, along with four others from a recruitment agency.

Out of those detained yesterday, two were released on MACC bail.

Earlier today, Bestinet told Malaysiakini it was confident that the company and its staff will be cleared of all graft allegations.

Bestinet operates the Foreign Workers Centralised Management System (FWCMS) which Malaysia uses to manage the recruitment process from all approved source countries at all stages.
