Zuki’s term as chief sec extended for 2 years
Mohd Zuki Ali has been reappointed as chief secretary to the government on a contract basis for two years, effective today (Aug 11), announced the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah consented to Zuki’s reappointment on the recommendation of Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob through the Public Service Commission.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah consented to Zuki’s reappointment on the recommendation of Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob through the Public Service Commission.
"The reappointment of Zuki is in the national interest because his service as the chief secretary to the government is still needed," the PMO said in a statement.
The 60-year-old has been in the role since Dec 31, 2019, and has an extensive experience in public service.
He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Nanyang University, Singapore and has served in the Finance Ministry, Education Ministry, Rural and Regional Development Ministry, Home Ministry as well as the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry.
He has also served at Istana Negara and the Prime Minister's Department and has held positions as the Sarawak federal secretary and Defence Ministry secretary-general.
