Nur Jazlan: 'Trans PN-BN-Borneo' plan in the works

Johor Umno deputy chief Nur Jazlan Mohamed has alleged that some Umno leaders are working with PAS leaders on a new pact between BN, Perikatan Nasional and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

"This group is trying to weaken Umno from within by trying to influence the Umno and BN leadership to accept PN as a political partner in the future.

"They are willing to accept the frogs (who defected from Umno) in an effort to create a reverse takeover of BN," he wrote on his Facebook page.

Nur Jazlan (above) said this group has been operating in a clandestine fashion for its own political interests and are courting GPS.

"I heard that GPS has rejected (them)... I think the people of Sarawak are happy with the Trans Borneo Highway... People don't need a 'Trans PN-BN-Borneo' coalition because they are happy with the GPS administration," he said.

Nur Jazlan did not offer any evidence to back his claims.

However, in recent weeks, some PAS leaders have been publicly declaring that they are holding informal talks with Umno leaders.

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has repeatedly rejected the idea of an electoral pact with PAS because of the latter's insistence on collaborating with Umno.
