PM leaves Istana, question on dissolution remains unanswered

The question of whether or not the Parliament will be dissolved soon remains unanswered, for now.
Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob just left the Istana Negara after having an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for about an hour today.
He waved to members of the media when his motorcade entered the palace compound at about 3.49pm. However, his motorcade did not stop when leaving the palace at about 4.45pm.
Earlier, he said matters related to the dissolution of Parliament will be discussed during his audience with the King at the Istana Negara, only if time permits.
He said the audience with the Agong is a weekly routine to discuss cabinet matters prior to the cabinet meeting.
Members of the media started camping outside the gates of the palace from as early as 7.30am today following reports that Ismail Sabri would meet the King this afternoon.
It is worth noting that the King, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah visited the National Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre this morning, amid calls by Umno’s top brass for Ismail Sabri to dissolve Parliament immediately.
However, the Perikatan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan coalitions are in favour of having the 15th general election only after the northeast monsoon season, which lasts from November to March.
During the visit, it was reported that the Agong was briefed on the year-end weather and flood situation by Environment and Water Ministry chief secretary-general Zaini Ujang as well as Meteorological Department director-general Muhammad Helmi Abdullah.
