Zahid: Voters 'experiment' went awry in 2018

BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi urged voters not to “experiment” during the next general election.

He alleged that the last experiment with Pakatan Harapan during the 2018 elections had a negative impact on the country.

“Our economy declined and our finances were a mess. There was political stability which affected the lives of the people.

“Strategic national assets were ‘auctioned off’ and projects meant for the people were given to cronies. Many businesses folded,” wrote Zahid on his Facebook page.

He urged voters not to “repeat the mistake” come polling day on Nov 19.

He said BN has the track record and experience to run a stable government that will face economic headwinds expected next year.

“God willing, the people will no longer be tricked by Harapan’s propaganda which only attempts to manipulate the people.

“The majority can think rationally and will choose stability and prosperity,” he said.

Zahid was responding to Amanah president Mohamad Sabu’s speech during a Harapan rally in Ipoh on Thursday night (Oct 20).

Mohamad urged voters to give Harapan a chance to govern for a full term, adding that he was willing to be booted to the “South China Sea” if Harapan doesn’t do a good job.

While Harapan won the 2018 election, its government was cut short after 22 months when Bersatu left the coalition to form a new government.
