Muda has resolved 70 percent of the less than 15 seats it requested to contest in the forthcoming general election (GE15) after a two-hour discussion with Pakatan Harapan on seat allocations today.
Muda deputy president Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz said the party will speed up the negotiation on the remaining 30 percent of the seats with the opposition bloc.
"The discussion was very positive. What I can say is that we resolved 70 percent of the seat allocation while the rest are overlapping seats.
“This means that we have to speed up our discussion within the next two or three days," she said when met at PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya.
"We requested less than 15 seats and we didn't ask for the incumbent seats (won by Harapan lawmakers in 2018),” she added.
Amira also clarified that none of the seats Muda requested was won by Harapan representatives in 2018.
She, however, declined to divulge further information on the discussion between Muda and a Harapan committee on seat allocation.
Using Harapan logo
Meanwhile, Amanah communications director Khalid Abdul Samad said there are a few more seats that are still in negotiations as the Harapan committee was not given the mandate to make the decision.
"This may be raised at the Harapan presidential council.
"However, it has been generally agreed that we will be using the Harapan logo," he added.

‘Probe should be under Penal Code’
On another development, Amira disagreed with the police investigating the commotion that broke out at Muda's event last night under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
"It shouldn't be probed under the Peaceful Assembly Act as the case involved assault and battery. We urge for the case to be probed under the Penal Code as there were casualties and damage to properties.
"I urge the police to show that they are serious about the election campaign to ensure it is being conducted in a safe and clean manner. Assurance has to come from the police," she said.
Last night, a fight appeared to have taken place at a Muda dinner event held at the Yong Sheng banquet hall in Muar after a group of men wearing hoodies, caps, and face masks threw bottles and firecrackers into the crowd at a parking lot.
Muda president and incumbent Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman posted several videos of the incident on Twitter, which depicted two groups of people talking to each other before one group started shouting “Who are you?” and that they rejected Muda.
This was the second time a commotion broke out at a Muda event.
On Oct 16, Muda’s “Mega Muar” ceramah was briefly interrupted by rowdy youngsters.

The group of 20, who showed up at the event on motorcycles, had allegedly instigated a shouting match between them and Muda members and supporters during Syed Saddiq’s speech.
Despite auxiliary police ordering them to leave, the youths lingered at the scene and attempted to induce further noise by revving up their motorcycles.
