Give us clear majority for GE15, Anwar appeals to fence-sitters

Pakatan Harapan chairperson Anwar Ibrahim has appealed to fence-sitters to support his coalition so that they could win with a solid majority in the 15th general election.

“A convincing majority will ensure Harapan is free from any political threats when governing the country,” he said at the launching of the coalition’s manifesto in Klang today.

Citing the previous administrations of Muhyiddin Yassin and Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Anwar said they were forced to create a bloated cabinet just to satisfy the “appetites” of some political leaders.

"To save the country from endless politicking and corruption, I am appealing to the people to give us an opportunity so that Harapan can have a clear majority and not repeat the cabinets of Muhyiddin and Ismail Sabri.

"Such leaders only want to protect their own positions - namely ministerial, special envoy and advisory posts.

"We have to stop this thievery and nonsense, and the way to do it is by giving us a clear majority,” Anwar added.

When asked to elaborate on the matter, Anwar said a clear mandate translates to a simple majority of 112 out of the 222 parliamentary seats.

"If they elect (other) representatives, let’s say from BN, you are (supporting) a system entrenched with corruption and abuse of power.”
