Anwar and Wan Azizah to declare assets this evening

GE15 | Pakatan Harapan chairperson Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Wan Azizah Wan Ismail will declare their assets as part of the PKR election candidates' assets declaration, this evening.

According to PKR deputy election director Rodziah Ismail, the delay (in the duo's declarations) is due to time constraints, but the declarations can be viewed on the PKR election candidates' website later this evening.

"Anwar has been really busy. And this time, (the requirements) are stricter, I have asked for sworn statements,” she said.

It was reported yesterday that most of PKR's 72 parliamentary candidates for the 15th general election (GE15) have published their asset declarations.

However, the entries for Anwar's and Wan Azizah's details were marked “to be updated”.

Earlier today, Harapan's Sungai Buloh candidate R Ramanan dismissed criticism that he has not been fully transparent when he did not provide a breakdown of his asset declaration.

He declared a net of RM63.5 million in assets, including RM4 million in jewellery, but did not provide a detailed breakdown, as required by the party.

Elaborating, Rodziah, who is tasked with ensuring all of PKR's election candidates submit their asset declarations, said that certain candidates have declared assets worth more than RM100 million.

She, however, did not mention names.
