Teacher snapped a nude photo of student for intimidation, claims lawyer

A family has lodged a fresh police report over a teacher allegedly undressing a student and snapping a photo of the teen following a rough futsal game at a school in Klang.

Lawyer V Vemal Arasan said a civil suit would also be filed on the incident as the police allegedly forced the family to withdraw their initial police report on the teacher’s behaviour.

Vemal, who is the counsel for the family, claimed that on Wednesday last week, the teacher and the 14-year-old victim were playing a futsal match and when it turned rough, the teacher tackled the student.

“The teacher kicked the student, dragged him into the storeroom (at the school), and locked themselves inside.

When alone together, the teacher asked the student to undress, to which the teen refused. Then the teacher forcefully undressed the boy and took a photo of the boy so he (the teen) would not make any complaint (about the incident).

“The student became traumatised,” Vemal told Malaysiakini, claiming that around six other students witnessed the purported incident of the teacher bringing the student into the school storeroom.

The lawyer claimed that there was also a second teacher involved in the incident.

‘Police forced withdrawal of report’

The counsel alleged that the boy’s parents had initially lodged a police report on the matter.

Vemal claimed that the police had then come to the school and forced the family to withdraw the first report, due to the victim’s alleged previous disciplinary issues.

However, he said, the family then lodged a new police report on Monday this week, not only on the teacher’s action but that of the police as well.

“There is no reason for the teacher to drag the student into the storeroom. Any disciplinary action could have just been done by bringing the student to the teacher’s room, not locking him in the storeroom, and stripping the boy,” Vemal contended.

The lawyer said he had arranged private counselling for the teen to help the victim recover from the trauma.

The counsel added that the school now is attempting to reach out to the parents over the alleged incident.

Malaysiakini is trying to reach out to the school for its response on this matter.

According to a copy of the police report lodged by the victim at the Klang police station dated Nov 7, the teen claimed that the incident happened on Nov 2 around 6.25pm when he was playing with the alleged perpetrator teacher at the school.

The boy alleged that during the match, the male teacher collided with his shoulder, causing him to fall. The teen claimed that he retaliated by kicking the teacher’s leg.

The victim claimed that the second male teacher hauled him into the storeroom and asked a few other students outside the storeroom to go back home.

The teen alleged that the first teacher (whom he had an altercation with during the futsal game) then forced him to undress and snapped a photograph of the victim.

The alleged perpetrator then purportedly told the teen that the former would upload the photograph to the internet if the latter tells anyone about what had happened.
