Supply disruptions on crude palm oil are expected in the first quarter of 2023 due to tropical storms in Malaysia disrupting harvesting in the world’s second-largest producer, industry regulator the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) said on Monday.

The palm oil supply and demand balance is expected to remain uncertain next year due to shifts in weather patterns, the labour situation, currency stability, policy, geopolitical stability, MPOB director-general Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir said in a presentation.
