Customs Dept: We only served notice to Invoke, no raid

The Royal Malaysian Customs Department has denied that it had carried out any raids on the company Invoke Solutions Sdn Bhd, which was founded by PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli.

The Customs Department, in a statement carried by Utusan Malaysia, said that they went there to only deliver a notice.

"There was no raid carried out by Customs on the company Invoke Solutions, which was founded by Rafizi. We only handed over a notice to the company in question.

"The notice is a notification for the inspection of documents related to Service Tax, where this company has been registered under the Service Tax Act 2018.

"The inspection of the documents is a routine procedure for the purpose of audit verification as well as advisory services on the SST-02 Statement Declaration that has been made by the company," said the Customs Department.

"There has been never been a raid made by the Customs Department on Invoke," it added.

It advised the public not to arbitrarily issue statements based on speculation and rumours that may affect its credibility.

At a press conference yesterday, Rafizi said the MACC has conducted a second raid on Invoke, while claiming that the Customs Department had also sent a notice that it will do the same.

He alleged it was political persecution meant to turn people’s sentiments against Pakatan Harapan before polling day on Nov 19.
