PM granted an audience with Agong this evening

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was granted an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah at the Istana Negara this evening.

According to the palace, the session was held at 5pm today, and the first since Anwar was sworn in as the country's 10th premier last Thursday.

"The Yang di-Pertuan Agong this evening granted an audience to the prime minister at Istana Negara.

"The session, which started at 5pm, was the first since Anwar got appointed as the prime minister and took his oath in a ceremony at Istana Negara on Nov 24," the palace said in a brief statement on Facebook.

The statement, however, did not specify the agenda of the meeting.

The meeting was held after the Council of Malay Rulers held a meeting earlier.

Malaysiakini has sent a request for comment to the prime minister's official Whatsapp group for media members, including to elaborate if the meeting today has to do with the formation of the new cabinet.
