Pakatan Harapan will conduct roadshows beginning early next year in preparation for the elections in six states that did not dissolve their assemblies concurrently with the 15th general election (GE15).

Harapan secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, who is also the home affairs minister, said it is a “very important” task to convince voters in the six states to continue to support the government formed after the recent GE15.

He said he held discussions with PKR deputy president and Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli several days ago and agreed to the importance of preparing for the state elections which will be in about six months.

“We said that while we have our essential duties of being part of the administration, the cabinet, and the duty to administer ministerial affairs, it is also important to prepare the party and Harapan to face the state elections,” he said.

Saifuddin (above) was speaking to reporters after attending a programme at SRJKC Machap Baru in Alor Gajah, Malacca, yesterday.

Also present were Amanah president and Agriculture and Food Security Minister Mohamad Sabu as well as Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari.

The six states that have not seen their respective state assemblies dissolved yet are Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu.
