Hadi on the mend, discharged from hospital

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has been discharged from Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital, Terengganu at around 2pm today.

Caretaker Terengganu Tourism, Culture and Digital Technology Committee chairperson Ariffin Deraman confirmed the matter with Bernama.

Ariffin also clarified that the Marang MP was hospitalised due to fever, and not heart-related issues as some claimed.

“Several state excos including me, as well as the Terengganu PAS leadership, visited him about noon earlier. He is in good condition and the doctor has signed off for him to leave at 2pm.

“Just now, I contacted his family and was informed that Hadi has reached his house in Rhu Rendang (Marang),” he said.

Earlier today, PAS vice-president Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said Hadi’s health condition had stabilised and that he had been transferred to a normal ward from the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU).

“However, he is still under treatment and the doctor’s observation,” Sinar Harian reported Amar as saying.

It was also reported that Hadi was not receiving visits at the hospital to facilitate recovery.

“No one has visited, let him rest properly and we pray that he will recover soon,” Amar added.

Hadi’s son Muhammad Khalil yesterday called on the public to pray for his father’s recovery.

It was previously reported that Hadi’s last hospitalisation was in February last year.

At the time, the 75-year-old was admitted to the Putrajaya Hospital due to breathing difficulties before being transferred to the National Heart Institute for further treatment.
