PN MPs yet to contact me about allocation, Fadillah says

Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof said Perikatan Nasional MPs, who were chosen to negotiate with him on the amount of allocation that opposition MPs should receive, have yet to do so.

He said he has not received any official letter from the MPs involved to hold any meeting.

“The only one to have met me was Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman (Muar MP), (those) from PN not yet, no official letters from them and I am (still) waiting.

“Held meetings with them but regarding other matters,” he told reporters after officiating the National Kenaf and Tobacco Board (LKTN) Golden Jubilee celebration yesterday.

In April, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man reportedly said three PN MPs - opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin, Kota Bharu MP Takiyuddin Hassan, and Putrajaya MP Radzi Jidin - were appointed to negotiate with Fadillah.

Meanwhile, commenting on government measures to continue the National Service Training Programme (PLKN) 3.0 using a different training module, Fadillah said the move was necessary to boost the spirit of nationalism among youths.

He added that it was also to raise the level of military discipline as “we need youths who are brave and, at the same time, have a high spirit of patriotism”.

During the question and answer session at the Dewan Rakyat yesterday, Defence Minister Mohamad Hasan said PLKN 3.0 would also require youths to undergo training in military camps.
