PKR Youth chief reminds members of bumpy road to Putrajaya

PKR CONGRESS | PKR Youth chief Adam Adli Abdul Halim today reminded party members to reflect on their path to Putrajaya.

“We cannot and should not waste the 25 years of struggles of those who came before us,” he said in his maiden address to PKR Youth members.

Adam, now a deputy minister, reflected on his role of leading the youth wing at a time when the party is in power, and noted there were members who asked why they should keep “suffering”.

Admitting to not having a satisfactory answer, the former student activist cited a personal dilemma when faced with the question.

“We started from nothing and, without giving up, we have attempted to do the best for all.

“Look around us. Our situation now is far better than when we first started,” he said.

Adam cautioned the audience that their actions would paint public perception regarding the administration of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the PKR president.

“We are the youth wing for the prime minister’s party.

“Everything that comes from us will surely be seen as a reflection of the party and our prime minister,” said the Hang Tuah Jaya MP.

“We are now being watched by the people out there.

“Our position as members of the youth wing who are part of a party in government doesn’t mean we have the final say to what we want,” he said, in his speech to over 1,000 PKR Youth delegates at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.

Throughout his speech, Adam also repeatedly credited Anwar, urging his members to play an active role in assisting the government and the party.

Also in attendance were representatives from the youth wings of Pakatan Harapan component parties.
