Muda will not be joining Perikatan Nasional’s tour across the country, said its secretary-general Amir Hariri Abd Hadi.

He was responding to PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin’s earlier statement who said that Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman would be joining their tour.

“It’s not a party decision and was never discussed at the central leadership committee.

“Therefore, I deny Muda will be part of PN’s tour,” Amir (above) said on X.

"Syed Saddiq is a Muda MP and must abide by the party's decision," he told Malaysiakini separately.

Earlier during a press conference after the closing of the PN convention, Muhyiddin claimed that Syed Saddiq would join the coalition’s tour to explain current affairs to the public.

“Syed Saddiq told me he was ready to join us (on the tour). Although he is not with PN, he is our ally.

“And the leadership team has decided to tour every state and listen to the people’s grouses and what we can do address them,” the Pagoh MP said.

It is to note that before the Sheraton Move, Syed Saddiq was serving as Bersatu youth chief, with Muhyiddin as its president and Dr Mahathir Mohamad as chairperson.

Following the collapse of the first Pakatan Harapan administration in February 2020, the former youth and sports minister did not join the then-Muhyiddin-led administration and opted to establish Muda.
