Police are probing a suspected petrol bomb attack at an entertainment centre in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng in Kuala Lumpur, early yesterday.

Dang Wangi deputy police chief Nazron Abd Yusof confirmed the incident.

“We have received a report on the incident, and are investigating it under Section 435 of the Penal Code for causing mischief by fire or explosive substance.

“Based on the CCTV footage, the incident happened at 2.18am (yesterday), but we are investigating the actual time of the attack,” Harian Metro quoted him saying.

CCTV footage of the incident, recorded from an establishment neighbouring the attacked outlet, shows four men arriving at the scene on two motorcycles, before lobbing two objects, believed to be petrol bombs, and fleeing.

Another footage shows passersby trying to extinguish the flames engulfing the premises after. Both clips are currently circulating on social media.

The extent of damage to the entertainment centre and the losses incurred have yet to be ascertained.
